Position Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Chief Operating Officer (COO). The COO will play a pivotal role in the strategic and efficient management of our quality assurance, production processes, maintenance, supply chain management, safety protocols, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have entensive experience in operations management within the metalworking or manufacturing sector, with a strong engineering background related to production.

The COO will work closely with the CEO and other executive team members to formulate and execute operational strategies that align with our organizational goals. This position requires leadership capabilities, as well as specialized technical expertise, to drive the company's operations towards achieving optimal performance and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Management: Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's objectives and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee quality control processes to ensure that products and services meet established standards and regulations.
  • Production Oversight: Manage production operations, ensuring optimal efficiency and effectiveness in manufacturing processes. Implement best practices to streamline operations and reduce costs while maintaining high quality.
  • Supply Chain Management: Lead supply chain initiatives to ensure timely procurement of materials and components to meet production demands. Establish strong relationships with suppliers and partners to enhance collaboration and optimize inventory levels.
  • Maintenance Management: Oversee maintenance operations to ensure that equipment and facilities are well-maintained, reliable, and operational. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and strategy adjustments as needed.
  • Safety Management: Promote a culture of safety across the organization. Implement, monitor, and improve safety policies and protocols to ensure compliance with safety regulations and foster a safe workplace.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives through the application of Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies. Foster a culture of innovation that encourages team members to identify opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Leadership Development: Cultivate a high-performing operations team through effective leadership, mentorship, and professional development initiatives. Provide guidance and support to ensure that teams meet and exceed performance objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Human Resources, to ensure a cohesive approach to achieving organizational goals.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance and identify areas for improvement. Report on operational performance to the executive team and make recommendations for strategic adjustments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an operations management role, preferably within the metalworking or manufacturing sector.
  • Strong technical background in engineering related to production processes.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing operational functions, including quality, production, supply chain, and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic initiatives that enhance organizational performance.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and spoken, in English. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.

Requirements:

Engineering related to production.

Additional training: black belt, green belt, or yellow belt certifications, knowledge of Quality

Age: 35 to 45 years old.

Knowledge in production, quality, maintenance, logistics, and distribution, as well as preparation of income statements.

English spoken and written at 95% and technical proficiency for negotiations.

Involvement in safety and hygiene.

Metalworking sector and knowledge of transformation cycles.

Personnel management with leadership skill.
