What you'll be doing…

This pivotal role provides high-level strategic support to the Chief of Staff, driving critical initiatives for the Office of the Chairman and CEO. The Associate Director will be instrumental in enhancing the team's capacity to execute strategic initiatives, conduct rigorous in-depth analysis, and manage complex projects vital for Verizon's continued growth. This role directly contributes to the formulation of essential business strategies, the identification of emergent opportunities, and the effective implementation of high-priority programs across the organization. The Associate Director will partner with the Chief of Staff to navigate a dynamic industry landscape, ensuring both operational excellence and strategic alignment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Project Leadership: Lead and execute special projects for the Office of the Chairman and CEO, including industry analysis, financial modeling, and developing new governance approaches.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication: Serve as a key liaison across Verizon, collaborating with diverse stakeholders and preparing high-quality, concise materials for senior leadership, the board, and investors.

  • Analytical & Financial Acumen: Apply strong analytical and financial modeling skills to inform strategic direction, evaluate markets, project growth, and assess ROI for large-scale initiatives.

  • Problem Solving & Strategic Framing: Independently structure ambiguous business problems, determine key questions, identify research sources, and formulate preliminary points of view and work plans.

  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilize structured and unstructured data, along with advanced analytics tools (including regression, predictive modeling, and machine learning), to generate insightful analysis and recommendations.

  • Communication Excellence: Translate complex ideas into clear, simple communications for senior leadership, demonstrating strong written and verbal skills.

  • Project Management: Coordinate workstreams, synthesize findings, and ensure well-vetted recommendations are presented to leadership.

What we're looking for…

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Four or more years of experience in corporate strategy, corporate development, investment banking, equity research, or strategy consulting

  • Three or more years of experience in telecom, media or tech industries

Even better if you have:

  • A degree, preferably in Business, Engineering, Mathematics, and/or equivalent work experience; MBA strongly desired

  • Ability to translate ambiguous, complex ideas and express them in concise, simple to understand ways to senior leadership

  • Advanced Microsoft Office and GSuite skills

  • Knowledge of working with structured, unstructured, and raw data to drive analysis

  • Experience with data processing and advanced data analytics tools including regression, predictive modeling, and other machine learning techniques

  • Ability to drive cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and influence co-workers and leadership while fostering strong working relationships

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.

The salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $162,000.00 - $282,000.00.
