Job Description

Messaging is a critical surface in building connections with our users. Our mission is to build a world-class messaging product and platform at Airbnb, bringing together guests and hosts across the world. As a web frontend engineer of this team, you’ll be responsible for building innovative, performant and accessible solutions with other like-minded engineers, designers, and product managersmangers.

A Typical Day: 

• Build the next-gen of Messaging used by millions of users

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners such as Product Managers, Experience Designers and other Engineers to design and deliver high-quality products on Desktop and Moweb

• Work closely with backend engineers and other web engineers on the team to develop and maintain messaging features

• Design & build new integrations across other teams within Airbnb

• Identify areas of improvement and drive web best practices

Your Expertise:

• 5+ years industry experience developing Web applications at scale

• Experience with modern JavaScript/Typescript libraries and tooling (e.g. React, graphql)

• Fluency in HTML, CSS, and related web technologies

• Strong product sense and a passion for UX product development

• Ability to collaborate with Product Management, Design, and backend, and other web engineers

• Passion for continuous learning and staying ahead of web development trends

• Excellent communication skills

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
