Job Summary:
Apple is looking for a Developer Platform Frameworks Engineer to join their Maps Developer Platform team, aiming to enhance the Apple Maps experience for millions. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining APIs for the MapKit framework while collaborating with various clients to deliver impactful mapping solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Elicit requirements from our clients and translate them into scalable, reliable code.
• Design, review and implement 3rd party developer APIs & Tools.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Human Interaction Design, Services, and other Engineering and Data teams.
• Develop, launch, and maintain cross-platform features that integrate Maps with the Apple ecosystem.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelors in Computer Science and at least 2+ years of software engineering experience in a production environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to explain complex problems clearly and succinctly
• Passion to collaborate and iterate on ideas in a cross-functional team
• Proficiency in Swift and/or Objective-C
• Familiarity with SwiftUI and/or UIKit
Preferred:
• Familiarity with system architecture and API design
• Proven track record of architecting, developing, releasing and supporting critically important software components
• Experience writing testable code and familiarity with Unit Testing frameworks
• Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or other spatial visualization systems
