Job Title: Junior DevOps Engineer

Location: 101 West Prospect Ave, Cleveland, OH 44115

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days onsite required)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Junior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This backfill role supports critical infrastructure, web applications, and DevOps initiatives for the enterprise. You will work in a hybrid capacity to support software deployment, automation, containerization, and performance tuning across platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning

• Support implementation of long-term infrastructure goals in line with business needs.
• Assist in defining platform standards and automation practices.
• Work with development teams to ensure proper architecture and QA policies.
• Support system recovery, backup, and alerting processes.

Acquisition & Deployment

• Assist in implementing and integrating new software systems.
• Perform compatibility, feasibility, and compliance assessments for tools and platforms.
• Support lifecycle activities including migrations, upgrades, and security implementations.
• Participate in testing and deployment of application solutions.

Operational Management

• Configure, monitor, and maintain scalable and secure web infrastructures.
• Automate deployments and digital asset transfers across environments.
• Assist in performance tuning and issue resolution.
• Participate in 24x7 support model, contributing to system uptime and incident response.
• Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure standards and best practices.

Incidental Functions

• Monitor systems and contribute to disaster recovery planning.
• Collaborate on process improvements and project initiatives.
• Attend technical meetings with stakeholders and software developers.
• May assist with hiring and compliance-related activities.

Required Experience & Skills:

• 7+ years of general IT experience.
• 5+ years working with application servers, performance tuning, and web architecture (SSL, DNS, CDN, etc.).
• 5+ years with deployment/automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, Ruby, GitHub Actions .
• 3+ years cloud implementation experience (AWS or other).
• 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Hands-on experience with Linux/*nix environments.
• Understanding of network and security concepts: TCP/IP, load balancing, WAF, SAST, DAST .
• Familiarity with Apache, Nginx , scripting languages for task automation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Enterprise CMS platforms .
• Experience with AWS and Infrastructure as Code.
• Familiarity with container security and orchestration in cloud.
• Knowledge of LDAP and directory services.
• Application Performance Monitoring (e.g., Dynatrace ).
• Agile/Scrum experience.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

• Hybrid work model with 3 days on-site required.
• Standard office environment, occasional lifting of hardware.
• May require work outside standard hours and limited travel.
