BJC HealthCare System is hiring a
Full-Time Generalist Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLT II Registered) for our
Laboratory at Missouri Baptist Medical Center $10,000 Sign On Bonus for Eligible candidates!!! Position Details: - Full-Time Day Shift: 3 days per week at 12 hour shifts (6:30am - 7pm)
- Weekend/ Holiday Rotation (every 4th weekend & 2 holidays per year)
- Non-Remote (in-office position)
- Core Lab: Blood Bank, Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Processing, and Urinalysis
- Patient centered role (Customer Service Sendouts)
- analysis and reporting of patient samples, completing quality control processes and procedures, and completing instrument maintenance
- Cerner Millenium (LIS), Epic, Instrument Manager, Sysmex WAM (hematology middleware), Cellavision (hematology application), Biorad Unity (Chemistry QC), & Wellsky (Blood Bank System)
- independent and team group work
Experience: - Previous work in a clinical / hospital laboratory (preferred)
- Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
Requirements:
- Associate's Degree in Physical / Life Sciences or related field
- ASCP, AMT,AAB or equivalent

Overview Missouri Baptist Medical Center , an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Medical Lab Technician (MLT) II (REG) performs specimen processing and routine / complex testing on blood and other specimens which requires a knowledge and understanding of quality control, basic instrument maintenance, and procedure methodologies and reference ranges. Maintains appropriate documentation of all activities as required. Demonstrates good laboratory practice
Responsibilities - Reports and maintains record of patient test results through the laboratory computer system accurately, meeting published turn around times for routine testing and stats.
- Documents patient test management problems/concerns on quality documents and initiates corrective action.
- Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary. Monitors quality control performance and corrects any problems and or reports any problems to the appropriate department.
- Operates all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results. Performs laboratory procedures for specimen collection, processing, test analysis.
- Trains new personnel in methods, procedures and use of equipment and instruments specific to the assigned area.
