Farm Operations Manager job at Gpac Salem, OR, US

Job Description

A leader in the specialty crop industry is looking to hire a Farm Operations Manager . This position offers a robust compensation package including a base salary, bonuses, healthcare and many other bells and whistles! If you are looking for a career in the potato industry, this is for you!!

Responsibilities:

* Directly supervise and coordinate the operations necessary for specialty crop production, including but not limited to tillage, maintenance, planting, cultivating, harvest, etc.
* Help manage scheduling of fertilizer applications, irrigation, and chemical applications
* Consistently communicate about farm activities, challenges, and management decisions
* Support innovation of farm practices
* Ensure proper safety procedures for personnel and equipment are being followed at all times

Qualifications:

* 7+ years experience in the agriculture industry
* Valid driver's license
* Good leadership, decision-making, and communication skills
* Self-motivated, ability to work independently and with a team
* Able to lift 50 pounds
* Potato experience preferred
