Founded in upstate New York with just five hens, we have grown into the nation's leading producer of organic pasture-raised eggs with partner farms in 10 states. In 2022, we acquired The Farmer's Hen, expanding our grower network and diversifying production and distribution to include Organic, Conventional Free Range, and Cage-Free eggs. In 2024, we decided to add company-owned farms to our operations. This allows us to deepen our connection to the land, transition certain acreage to organic, and ensure that every step of the process reflects our unwavering commitment to sustainability and animal welfare. And we are now hiring for our company-owned farms. 

A Farm Manager   will be the primary person (or couple) responsible for the day to day operations of our farm. This position entails, but is not limited to, the following functions:

Job Description

-Manage daily farm activities with the goal of optimizing egg production and ensuring animal welfare standards are maintained

-Always push production levels to their highest capacity while maintaining the above

-Communicate with Field Techs as needed with any issues or questions regarding egg production or animal welfare or barn activity or maintenance

-Keep barn audit ready and at standard at all times

-Maintain all paperwork as required by Compliance and Live Ops and monitor as required

-Resolve all issues immediately as soon as possible or contact Field Techs for assistance

-Be on call for emergencies

-Collect eggs, noting any irregularities and implement measures to get flock back on track

-Prepare eggs for pick up

-Maintain Farm Area to impeccable levels of cleanliness and company standards

Qualifications:

Required:

● Experience working with poultry (preferably layers)

● Excellent judgment spotting and resolving both every day and urgent issues

● Experienced in Excel, Dropbox, and Google platform preferred

● Highly organized

● Ability to effectively manage time. There are many moving parts to this position and little supervision, so self-discipline is a must

● Quick problem-solving skills

● A valid driver's license and excellent driving record

● A team player with a positive attitude and collaborative approach to work

● A high degree of initiative

● Able to lift up to 50 lbs

Preferred:

● Experience working on farms

● Knowledge of animal welfare standards and biosecurity, and state/federal agriculture/farming regulations and standards
