Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced medical writer based in the USA to join our dynamic team. This role will involve working on a fast-growing publications account that focuses on cutting-edge developments in hematology-oncology. If you have a passion for writing and experience within a healthcare communications agency, this role could be a great fit.

The role

Our core expertise is developing accurate and engaging scientific content and delivering that through a variety of communication channels for maximum reach and impact. Our teams have developed an excellent reputation with our clients for the quality of work that we deliver.

As a result of this success, AMICULUM is looking for an experienced and ambitious medical writer with an interest in publications who enjoys building positive long-term relationships, identifying opportunities, and helping to drive organic growth.

You can work remotely from anywhere in the USA, but this role would be best suited to someone on the West Coast to accommodate our clients based there.

Key responsibilities

  • Delivery of high-quality scientific content on a fast-paced and growing global publications account
  • Providing clients with a high level of scientific expertise on medical communications projects, with a focus on publications, including abstracts, posters, and manuscripts
  • Responsible for the content-related portions of the client review process, focusing on understanding client objectives, meticulous attention to detail, and ensuring consistent quality across multiple deliverables
  • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of client products and the wider therapy area
  • Building collaborative partnerships across internal teams
  • Establishing and building positive long-term relationships with client teams and medical experts
  • Identifying opportunities to grow an account and actively participating in idea generation

What you’ll need

  • A strong academic background in the life sciences
  • Previous experience as a medical writer supporting publications in a healthcare communications agency
  • Strong editorial skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Be comfortable receiving feedback from clients and colleagues as part of the content generation process
  • The ability to keep calm under pressure, with excellent organizational and time management skills, as well as being able to prioritize tasks without compromising on quality
  • Enthusiasm for collaborating with colleagues and working as part of a team
  • The ability to be engaging and confident in verbal communication
  • Excellent storytelling abilities – a creative thinker who enjoys finding new ways to communicate client data and scientific concepts
  • Confidence to make decisions and drive projects forward
  • Familiarity with health economic and outcomes research would be an advantage

Why AMICULUM?

We’re proud to be a flexible and inclusive employer that provides a supportive working environment. We value creativity and encourage colleagues to offer ideas that further the success of our business.

In return, we offer:

  • Remote and hybrid working options as standard
  • Continuous learning and professional development opportunities
  • Two annual bonus schemes
  • 25 days’ vacation allowance (plus 9 public holidays)
  • Health and life insurance

What’s next?

To apply for this role, you must be based in the USA and have the unrestricted right to work there.

We ask that all applicants supply a CV and covering letter in support of their application, detailing their experience and interest in working at AMICULUM.
