Are you passionate about workplace safety, environmental responsibility, and building a strong safety culture? Ox Specialty Paper, LLC is looking for a hands-on, proactive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to take charge of compliance, risk management, and cultural leadership at our Carthage, NY mill.
This is a role for a leader who doesn’t just oversee safety but actively integrates it into daily operations and maintenance activities. You’ll be a visible presence—engaging with employees on the floor, leading safety initiatives, ensuring environmental compliance, and fostering a culture where safety is second nature.
Lead by Example: Conduct daily operational rounds, engage directly with production and maintenance teams, and ensure that safety is always a top priority.
Own Compliance & Reporting: Manage all environmental and safety compliance programs, including air permits, hazardous waste, water withdrawal, and required regulatory filings.
Investigate & Improve: Lead root cause investigations for all safety incidents, track corrective actions, and drive continuous safety improvements using the OxSafe program.
Develop & Train: Oversee new hire safety onboarding, ensure all employees are up to date on required training, and maintain a structured safety training calendar.
Drive Safety Culture: Co-chair the Safety Committee, set meeting agendas, direct audits, and promote a proactive, solution-focused environment.
Stay Proactive: Serve as the EHS manager on-call, participate in weekend mill coverage, and ensure Ox’s Safety & Environmental culture is upheld at all times.
