Job Description

Salary: $70,000 - 80,000 per year Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology is a plus.
  • Experience working in a Managed Service Provider environment is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of industry experience in design, installation, configuration, and support.
  • A self-motivated individual who can effectively work both independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with service delivery in a cloud services environment is advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with problem-solving abilities are essential.
  • Proficiency in ConnectWise/LabTech is required.
  • Availability to work off hours if needed is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with team members in designing, implementing, and supporting current and future systems.
  • Design, upgrade, and implement various technologies such as Active Directory, Exchange, VMware vSphere, Veeam, SharePoint, Enterprise Storage Devices, and assorted network equipment.
  • Make recommendations and procure network equipment and technologies based on capacity planning and benchmark testing.
  • Monitor and maintain data center physical cages located in Northern NJ, with prior data center experience required.
  • Analyze, design, test, maintain, monitor, support, and implement WAN/LAN, internet, and intranet using Cisco, Dell, HP, SonicWall, WatchGuard, and vSphere technologies.
  • Proactively improve your knowledge of Amazon EC2/Citrix and related technologies.
  • Demonstrate the ability to address problems at their root by stepping back to understand broader contexts rather than merely treating symptoms.
  • Show a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem-solving specifically at the networking layer.
  • Follow detailed support procedures, keep system documentation up to date, and track issue entries thoroughly.
  • Take ownership of technical issues reported by clients and drive them to resolution with the help of the support team.
  • Lead small projects to completion and actively participate in requirements gathering and definition.
  • Maintain management reporting on key system availability and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with hardware vendors to ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Deploy, maintain, and support critical systems, including devices, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and ancillary infrastructures.
  • Review and assist with backup and recovery efforts as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver status reports on current activities and projects.
  • Engage in the procurement process actively.
  • Act as an off-hours escalation contact during unplanned events.
  • Participate in on-call and emergency support for production systems and services.
  • Possess working knowledge of network protocols and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Be a professional, reliable, and adaptable team player capable of working well under pressure.
  • Manage vendor relationships for hardware and software support and warranties.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously with ease.
