Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer with deep expertise in Cisco technologies to join our IT infrastructure team. As the Cisco SME, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our Cisco-based network and systems infrastructure. You’ll provide strategic guidance on Cisco solutions, ensure robust system performance, and support critical business operations with high-availability network architectures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and maintain Cisco networking solutions (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and collaboration systems).
  • Act as the primary Cisco technology advisor , providing expertise on architecture, best practices, and product roadmaps.
  • Lead system upgrades, migrations, and patch management for Cisco platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end network solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting for complex network issues.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards , implementing Cisco security solutions (e.g., Cisco ISE, ASA, Firepower).
  • Provide tier 3 support , training, and documentation for IT operations.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and business continuity initiatives.
  • Stay updated on emerging Cisco technologies and recommend innovations to optimize infrastructure.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering with a focus on Cisco technologies .
  • Cisco certifications required (e.g., CCNP, CCIE highly preferred).
  • Extensive hands-on experience with:
    • Cisco networking (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, wireless)
    • Cisco security solutions (ASA, Firepower, ISE)
    • Unified Communications (CUCM, Webex)
    • Data center technologies (Nexus, UCS)
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, virtualization , and cloud integrations (AWS, Azure).
  • Proficiency in automation tools (Ansible, Python) for network management a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills , with the ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Zero Trust architectures and SDN solutions .
  • Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and best practices.
  • Background in hybrid cloud environments integrating Cisco solutions.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
